Vase Guy
Hello!
This is my first ever game jam and first ever game!
Vase Guy is a single player single level semi speed running platformer where you play as a cat named Mr. Beef who really does not like vases.
A/D - Move
Space - Jump
Double Tap Space - Double Jump
X - Skip Dialogue
This game was entirely developed by me for Brackeys Game Jam 2025.1– all of art, and music are my original creations.*

THIS IS SO FUN! Amazing for your first ever game!
This game is so addicting! The level is very strait forward, so it's mostly mechanics to get faster. My best time is 22.0.
Super fun game! The vase breaking sfx and screen shake is SUPER satisfying!
This game has a really interesting concept and it was way better polished than I thought it would be (the vases breaking, the collisions), especially for your first game. I would say most of the factors are pretty good in this game. I would just like to give a few ways you can improve.
- Firstly, I would change the font to something that better matches the game.
- Secondly, you should use the same size brush / pixel size for all the assets as it will be more pleasing to the eye.

I changed sprites at the last minute and didn't get a chance to redraw all of it before the deadline. A complete visual overhaul will probably be done if i was to move forward.
I was having a hell of time trying to get TextMeshPro to work, so i went default for the jam. I really want the a pixel font along with some text noise but working a fulltime job, i had to put some stuff on the backlog.
35.9 seconds, The sound of breaking is always fun haha.

MR BEEF IS VERY PLEASED
Very cool game! I managed to destroy all of the vases with 57.2 seconds. I felt a hard time jumping sometimes because ot he camera shake being a little too strong!
